150 LeT members will avenge Kasab: Mail
Investigating and anti-terror agencies in the country are on high alert after another threat mail claimed that about 150 LeT operatives have entered India to carry out a bigger attack, similar to 26/11.
Recently, the investigating agencies had found that a mass mail was being circulated claiming that 26/11 terror convict Ajmal Kasab’s death will be avenged. The trail led the investigating agencies to a cyber café Bengaluru from where it was sent.
The email, sent in the second week of November, stated that Mata Vaishno Devi shrine town of Katra will be targeted. Investigating agencies from Jammu and Kashmir arrived in Bengaluru for but thereafter, the probe hit a dead-end as the café neither had any proper record or CCTV footage, a senior official revealed.
Now, another mail is being circulated stating that LeT operatives have entered the country. The mail it is learnt to have originated from the email ID sadaf.khan0147@gmail.com and was sent as BCC to hide hide the addresses of other recipients.
The email stated that a senior commander of LeT has bigger plans to avenge Kasab’s death and for this, 150 LeT operatives have entered the country from different locations to start their work.
The authorities are leaving no stone unturned, but Police Commissioner Jyothiprakash Mirji, when asked about the authenticity of the mail, said it could be a hoax from someone trying to disturb peace and spread panic.
