19-year-old maid jumps to death from 12th floor

A 19-year-old maid from Maharashtra jumped to death from the 12th floor of an apartment in Panampilli Nagar in Kochi on Friday evening.

The dead was identified as Anasurya, who was employed at the house of Isaac Joseph in Great Orchard apartments.

According to police, no foul play is suspected as of now. “The house owner said Anasurya had the habit of getting upset for silly reasons.

She recently had asked for a few days leave to go to her native place. The house owner said she would be allowed to go only if any of her relatives comes from Maharashtra to take her.

She was found distressed over this issue,” said T. Biju, the SI of South police station. Anasurya had been staying with Isaac’s family for over two years.

The body is kept in the Ernakulam General Hospital.
Her brother is expected in Kochi on Saturday. The police said the post mortem will be held after her brother reaches here.
