2 baby girls born at Pak Hindu camp
Though Sadhuram and Radha have Pakistani national tag, but their newlyborn daughter, Bharti, has every right to be an Indian citizen because Radha delivered the baby girl at a makeshift camp in Jodhpur on Thursday. One more Pakistani couple was also blessed with a baby girl at the camp on Saturday.
Sweets were distributed and fellow Pakistani Hindus expressed happiness at the birth of a baby girl at the camp. As the news about the baby’s birth spread, the Pakistani Hindus celebrated it is an auspicious event. A baby girl was born at the camp and we give more respect to daughters, says Singh Sodha, president of Seemant Lok Sangthan (SLS) who has been campaigning for the plight of migrant Hindus.
A resident of Pakistan’s Sanghar district in Sindh, Sadhu and Radha were part of a group of 171 Pakistani Hindus who arrived in Jodhpur on September 9 and sought Indian citizenship. A doctor examined the mother and baby girl and declared both of them as healthy.
“She has been named as Bharti because she was born in India,” says Govardhan, an activist working with the SLS. Newlyborn Bharti is not the only baby born at the camp. One more Paksitani Hindu woman gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday.
Langaram and his wife are blessed with a baby girl too. He belongs from Sindh’s Matiyari district and came to India on September 9 through the Thar Express.
According to the SLS, currently, there are 368 Pakistani Hindus camping at a make shift structure. The state BJP has submitted its report on such Hindus to the party’s national president Nitin Gadkari.
