2 commandos injured in Naxal ambush

Two members of a Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) battalion, a specialised unit of CRPF, were on Saturday injured when Naxals ambushed them near the forested village of Chinagelur under Basaguda police limits in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, bordering Andhra Pradesh, the police said.

Security personnel belonging to 204th CoBRA battalion had left their basecamp at Basaguda in the morning for routine search operation in the nearby forest. The armed rebels were reportedly following them inside the jungle and attacked them when they reached the foot of a mound close to Cheinagelur village, nearly ten km from Basaguda.
