2 held for robbery, stabbing

A rickshaw-puller was stabbed by two criminals when he resisted their robbery attempt in Daryaganj area of central Delhi on Saturday evening.
The police later arrested the two accused, identified as Sonu, 28, and Mohd Nahid, 35. The incident took place late Saturday night when a rickshaw-puller Mohammad Azhar, a resident of Bihar, approached the police with claim that two men had looted him of `450 at knife-point. A police team chased the assailants and caught them, a senior official said.
The police said the duo was allegedly involved in a case of mobile phone theft in April. Sonu, a resident of Bihar’s Muzzafarpur, is also involved in six cases of Arms Act and theft.
In another incident, a mobile shop owner was arrested in outer Delhi for his involvement in a series of motorcycle thefts.
Vikash, 21, was arrested from Sultanpuri last Tuesday on a tip-off. He is allegedly involved in theft of a number of motorcycles, four of which have been recovered from him. He was apprehended after he tried to escape after seeing a police barricade. “The cops chased him and he was nabbed. He revealed that he commits autolifting in Mangolpuri and Sultanpuri with a minor boy,” a senior police official said.
