2 infiltrators shot dead near LoC

Indian troops shot dead two infiltrating militants near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday, officials here said.
A defence spokesperson confirming it said here that the Army foiled an infiltration bid along the de facto border in Tangdhar sector, about 140-km northwest of h

ere. “Detecting suspicious movement, the troops maintaining vigil challenged the infiltrators, who opened fire and attempted to escape under the cover of darkness. However, both the terrorists were eliminated in the ensuing fire fight,” the spokesperson Lt. Col. J.S. Brar said. He added that the identity of the slain men could not be ascertained immediately.
