2 motorcycle-borne Pak infiltrators held in Jammu
Two Pakistani infiltrators, riding a motorcycle, on Sunday “inadvertently” crossed over Indo-Pak border and were arrested close to a forward border outpost (BoP) in Jammu district.
The two youth crossed the Zeroline along International Border (IB) and landed up close to three-tier border fencing in Tubewell-4 BoP in Karotana Khurd forward belt in R.S. Pura Sunday morning, BSF officials said.
Alert BSF troops observed their movement and challenged them to surrender, he said adding that both of them were arrested along with bike.
They had inadvertently crossed into this side, they said adding both belonged to Kamarawali border village in Sailkote district of Pakistan. “Nothing incriminating was recovered from them,” they said.
As a goodwill gesture, BSF authorities this evening handed over duo along with bike to Pakistani Rangers at a flag meeting at Octerio BoP in R.S. Pura sector.

BSP seeks PROBE INTO statue DESECRATION
Amita Verma
Lucknow, July 29
The Bahujan Samaj Party has demanded a high-level inquiry into the incidents of desecration of statues of dalit icons including Dr B.R. Ambedkar and Ms Mayawati.
“We met chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on July 26 when a statue of Ms Mayawati was vandalized and he gave us an assurance that there would not be any recurrence of such incidents. In our presence, he directed the principal home secretary and the DGP to ensure proper protection of parks and memorials but statues of Dr Ambedkar were desecrated in four places a day later which proves that the chief minister’s assurance has no meaning,” said Leader of Opposition Swami Prasad Maurya at a press conference here on Sunday.
Former BSP minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui told reporters that after the chief minister’s assurance, he led a delegation to Noida and Badalpur to inspect the parks and memorials and was shocked at what he found.
“In Noida, there were only three security personnel and they were all unarmed — they did not even have a baton with them. In Badalpur, there was not even a single security personnel present. We are not questioning the chief minister’s intentions but we are appalled to see his lack of authority,” Mr Siddiqui said.
He added that there was no maintenance of the parks.
