2 new lines in Delhi Metro, 3 lines extended
Two new lines and extension of three existing lines of the Delhi Metro were approved Monday as the Delhi Cabinet cleared the revised Phase 3 proposals, at a cost of `30,000 crores. It will now be sent to the Group of Ministers handling the matter at the Centre.
Once Phase 3 is complete, all areas around Ring Road will be connected to the Metro network. One new route is Mukundpur-Rajouri Garden-Dhaula Kuan-Anand Vihar-Yamuna Vihar: 35 stations in 56 km. It will pass through Naraina, which will have a new Metro station.
Another is Janakpuri West-Munirka-Kalkaji-Jamia-Kalindi Kunj-Botanical Garden Noida: 22 stations in 34 km.
