26/11 note to Pak: Is that all we can do?
Nov. 25: India on Thursday accused Pakistan of not doing enough to punish the men who plotted the 2008 militant attacks on Mumbai, as the city prepared to mark the second anniversary of the bloodbath even as a senior Pakistan diplomat admitted that an official diplomatic message was delivered to the embassy in New Delhi urging Pakistan to “fulfil its obligation and commitment” to bring the plotters to justice.
On the eve of the second anniversary of the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India’s strongly-worded dilomatic communication to Pakistan reminded it of its commitment to bring the perpetrators of the attacks to justice.
India is understood to have expressed concern over the lack of progress in the investigations in Pakistan and the Pakistan government’s failure to share more information, such as the names of seven handlers — including two officers of the Pakistani Army — involved in the attacks, which were given by home minister P. Chidambaram during his meeting with his Pakistani counterpart in June in Islamabad.
Pakistan has also chosen not to respond to India’s request for voice samples of the handlers, whose conversations were intercepted as the attacks were carried out.
India was equally concerned over the lack of progress in the trial of seven Lashkar-e-Tayyaba terrorists in Pakistan who were arrested in connection with 26/11.
