2g Case: CBI to file charges by december 15
The CBI is set to file its chargesheet by December 15 against two former official of the department of telecommunications (DoT) and two private telecom companies for their alleged role in awarding additional spectrum licences during former communications minister Pramod Mahajan’s tenure.
Sources in the agency said following the recent directions of the Supreme Court the agency is now preparing to mention names of private telecom companies in its chargesheet. Sources further said Mahajan’s name will also be mentioned in the chargesheet but not as an accused as he is not alive. The Supreme Court on November 29 directed the agency to heed the view of the then CBI director A.P. Singh.
