3 U.P. children killed, human sacrifice feared
The bodies of three children, who had gone missing on August 15, were found on the banks of the Kalyan Sagar lake in Mahoba district on Friday morning.
The bodies were kept in separate gunny bags and the eyes of the children had been gorged out.
Angry residents blocked several roads and highways and shouted slogans against the police, accusing the cops of inaction.
According to reports reaching here, Sanjay Singh, resident of Chani village, works as a driver for a local BJP leader. His nine-year-old son, seven- year-old daughter and nine-year-old nephew were seen playing near the local Dak bungalow in the afternoon of Independence Day.
When the children did not return home till late in the night, their family members started looking for them. Apprehending that they had been kidnapped, Sanjay Singh informed the police but since the cops were busy with Independence Day functions, no efforts were made to trace the kids.
On Friday morning, when some people went to the banks of the Kalyan Sagar lake, they saw gunny bags lying there and informed the police. The bodies were later identified by Sanjay Singh and have been sent for post mortem. “Prima facie, it could be a case of human sacrifice because the eyes of the children have been gorged out,” said a senior police official.
