3 flee Goa prison by drilling hole
A convict and two undertrials escaped from the Sada sub-jail near Vasco in Goa in the early hours of Wednesday. According to the police, the trio drilled a hole in the cell toilet and escaped. guards Mr Vasudeo Pednekar and Mr Dilip Gulelkar, were suspended on Wednesday morning after the incident came to light, chief minister Mr Digambar Kamat told the Goa Assembly.
Undertrials Abhijit Patil and Seby Ferrao and convict Hitler Fernandes escaped around 3 am, said sub-divisional magistrate Levinson Martins.
