3 held in Assam for Naxal links
In what has been stated to be the first direct evidence of Maoist link in Assam and other north-eastern states, security forces on Saturday arrested three Assamese youths from Saranda forest area of Sunderdgarh district in Orissa.
Disclosing that one of them was identified as Aditya Bora, an authoritative security source told this newspaper that they were caught while coming from a Maoist camp inside the deep forest of Orissa bordering Jharkhand.
Security agency was trailing the movement of Aditya Bora since past few weeks as he circulated press statement in the local media claiming the existence of Maoist base in Assam, security sources said adding that they are also trying to verify their connections in Assam. This is for the first time that security agencies have come across direct evidence of Maoist activities in the trouble-torn north-eastern states.
