3 more post offices in Vishakapatnam get a modern look
Visakhapatnam: Three more post offices, Waltair RS head post office, P&T Colony sub post office and Lawsons Bay Colony sub post office, in the city had a change in their look and Feel as part of Project Arrow Phase-VI that aims to modernise postal operations and provide customer friendly environment.
At present, 28 post offices are functioning at various parts in the city and seven of them have undergone a revamp. Union minister of state for commerce and industry D. Purandeswari, on Saturday, inaugurated the three post offices which were modernised under Project Arrow.
The Union minister said the postal department has launched the project to change as per the need of the society and consumers in the country. Senior superintendent of post offices, K.V.L.N. Murthy said the objective of Project Arrow is to ensure same day delivery of mail received and same day dispatch of mail collected by reducing transaction time at counters, faster account transfers, closures, settlement of deceased claim cases and to improve customer satisfaction.
