4 women sentenced to death

A local court here has awarded life imprisonment to four women of a family.

Judge S K Sharma, in the order on Saturday, also imposed fine of Rs 1,000 each on them.

According to the prosecution, the accused Basso Bi, Nasso Bi, Asma Bi and Kapuria Bi set ablaze Vinita, their neighbour, suspecting her character, on August 14 last year at Niwadi Kheda village in Banda tehsil.

The victim, in her dying declaration, had named the four women.
