For 45th time, Jabbar, 66, fails Class 10 exam
It was his 45th unsuccessful attempt to clear the high school examination but Jabbar Hussain is not giving up. “At 66, I have made 45 attempts to clear the Class 10 examinations and have failed. But I am not giving up. I will continue to try and pass the examination till my last breath,” he says.
Hussain, who runs a small grocery shop in Bindki in Fatehpur district, failed in three of the six papers in the high school examination. He could not clear English, Science and Elementary Mathematics papers. The results were declared on Tuesday.
“Every year when I fail, I learn something from my mistake and make sure that I do not repeat the same next year. This year too, I have realised my mistakes and I hope to clear the papers next year,” he says.
Jabbar confesses that when he was a child, his parents could not afford to educate him. “I would envy other children who went to school and the moment I became economically independent, I decided to complete my education. I study at home and have no qualms about taking help from neighbourhood children who go to school,” he says.
