5 soldiers sleeping at LoC when shot dead?
The five Indian Army soldiers killed in an ambush in Poonch on August 6 by Pakistani troops may have been sleeping when they were shot dead at point-blank range, television reports claimed Thursday. The Army refused to comment, saying it its “investigation is still on”.
A television report claimed Thursday that the sixth soldier, who survived, was to have been on guard but had taken a break to relieve himself and returned to find five fellow soldiers killed. Speculation was rife that this was why the soldiers who were killed couldn’t even retaliate. Some had reportedly been shot at least thrice in the head.
