50,000 jobs is Omar’s gift
Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah has announced 50,000 government jobs to be offered to the unemployed youth of the state whose number has already touched the four-lakh-mark. The move is also seen as the chief minister’s attempt to woo the youth often seen confronting the security forces on the streets of the Valley.
In his Independence Day eve message, the chief minister also appealed the youth of the state especially those in the Valley to help the government in restoring normalcy and separately urged the separatists to seize the Prime Minister’s peace offer by agreeing to join the proposed talks for resolving the political issues.
Expressing deep grief and sorrow over the loss of lives during the CRPF and police firings, Mr. Abdullah while conveyed heart-felt condolences and solidarity with the bereaved families said, “My heart bleeds and in their hour of grief I am with the bereaved families whose dear ones have lost their lives.” He added, “The victims of the unfortunate events are my own brothers and sons and I am in gloom and bereavement.”
He assured the people that nobody can be so stone hearted as not to be touched by such happenings and no eye can be without tears over the loss of lives. He also expressed grief over the loss of lives in the recent cloudburst in Leh.
