75-year-old lifer dies in hospital

A 75-year-old man, serving a life term in a dowry death case in Muzaffarnagar district jail, died in a hospital here, police said today.

Dharamdas, who was awarded life imprisonment in October last year along with other family members for killing his daughter-in-law, complained of chest pain after which he was shifted to a the hospital yesterday, they said.

Later, he died during treatment in the hospital, police said, adding that an magisterial probe has been ordered into the death.
