8 days later, a suicide note in NRHM scam

Eight days after Mahendra Sharma’s decomposed body was found in his one-room residence in Pansganwa, in Lakhimpur, the police has 'recovered' a suicide note purportedly written by the health department clerk linked to the NRHM scam.
The Lakhimpur police now claim Sharma (the sixth person connected to the scam to die) committed suicide because his suicide note says so. The postmortem report had clearly stated that Sharma was ‘smothered to death’ and it is near impossible for anyone to smother himself to death. Yet the police are now seemingly keen to turn it into a case of suicide.
Interestingly, the police claims the suicide note, dated February 7, the date the clerk went missing, was recovered from one of the pockets of a jacket worn by Mahendra Sharma at thetime of his death. The police, however, haveo answer as to why it took them eight days to produce the suicide note and why they did not confirm the presence of the note on the ay the body was found.
The police also haveo answer to why there was a gap of five days between the writing of the suicide note, if it was written on February 7, and Sharma ending his life. According to the post-mortem report, Mahendra Sharma died bout three days before the body was found.
“In the suicide note, harma has said that he is nding his life because he was being harassed with frequent transfers by the MO, Dr J.P. Bhargava, and three others (clerk Rajesh Hans, medical superintendent S.C. Gupta and deputy CMO Balbir Singh). He has written that he was asked to pay Rs 2,000 for cancellation of his first transfer and then Rs 50,000 to cancel his second transfer,” said Lakhimpur SP Amit Chandra.
The suicide note is being sent to a handwriting expert for examination and the clerk’s clothes are being sent for forensic examination
