Achuta to get facebook page in a fortnight

The power struggle between CPI(M) official faction and V.S. Achuthanandan has taken a Facebook twist with the “popular” Left leader’s official page all set to go live in a fortnight.

VS’s close supporters have taken steps to create the page, sources said. The CPI(M), in a damage control mode on Friday, decided to resist attack on its policies in the social media by creating Facebook profiles. However, the party so far has not endured VS’s presence in the Facebook owing to the dispute.
According to sources close to VS, the attempt is to get the support of younger generation. The recent incidents, including Kothamangalam nurses strike in which the party newspaper didn’t even mention VS’ name, hastened the thought of a presence on Facebook, sources added.
