Actress’ body found in allahabad
The Mumbai police on Wednesday recovered the decapitated body of model and small-time actress Meenakshi Thapa, who was murdered last month in Allahabad.
The dismembered body was recovered from a septic tank in the Darbhanga Colony area. Meenakshi Thapa, 26, a Nepalese national and resident of Dehra Dun, was kidnapped and later murdered, allegedly by junior film artistes Amit Kumar Jaiswal and Preeti Sarin.
Amit Jaiswal and Preeti Sarin had been arrested in Mumbai on Saturday. According to IG B.P. Singh, Meenakshi found work as a junior artiste in director Madhur Bhandarkar’s movie Heroine and moved to Mumbai where she befriended Amit and Preeti. The two allegedly took Meenakshi to Gorakh-pur on March 12 on the pretext of getting her another acting assignment. When they realised that her family could not afford to pay the ransom, they allegedly murdered her.
