Adarsh scam: Army orders court of inquiry
The Indian Army’s Pune-based Southern Command has ordered a court of inquiry into the allotment of a flat in the Adarsh Housing Society to its serving senior officer Maj. Gen. R.K. Hooda who is currently additional director-general (mechanised forces). He was earlier posted in Mumbai as the Army’s GOC (Maharashtra Goa) region and served in that position till earlier this year.
The court of inquiry is likely to probe whether there was any misuse of office by Maj. Gen. Hooda in his previous posting in Mumbai. Incidentally, he was earlier approved for promotion to the rank of lieutenant-general but it was later decided that he would not be promoted following his alleged role in the Adarsh controversy.
