Advani: Omar should resign
Reinvigorating his party’s commitment to “Ek Pradhan, Ek Nishan and Ek Vidhan (One President, One Flag and One Constitution)”, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader L.K. Advani on Sunday lamented Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah for his statement that the state has not merged with India but acceded to it. He demanded that the chief minister should resign, as his formulation was “out of tune with the national mood.”
In his weekly blog, the saffron leader said, “The demand for Omar Abdullah’s resignation that was being made till recently was on the ground that he had totally failed to deal with the situation in the Valley created by stone-pelting mobs. There were elements willing to attribute it to his administrative inexperience.”
Mr L.K. Advani was of the view that the young leader’s latest speech revealed that he was not just an administrative failure, but also in case of J&K, he was totally “out of tune with the national mood” and it would be better if he quits “as early as possible”.
In his latest post entitled “An Unpardonable Gaffe,” the Bharatiya Janata Party leader, in a sarcastic tone, said that the chief minister “has indeed made history”.
