BJP senior leader L.K. Advani on Sunday called the NDA rally against inflation, corruption, a historic one. However, the speeches made by the leaders of the NDA barely failed to make any impression.
Speaking at the rally, Mr Advani blamed the apathy of the government to get the black money stashed in foreign banks back in India as the root cause of corruption, scams and inflation. The BJP leader said that during its rule, the NDA had taken up the agenda of providing facilities such as road, water, food and school to the common people of India.
“Money for all this can be generated from within our own country, but it is not possible under the Congress’ rule. Since independence, Congress leaders have been busy sending money in foreign banks, which keep their account details a secrete. The US felt the need to curb investments in foreign banks and, hence, raised the issue in the United Nations convention, asking the banks to return the money to respective nations. But the UPA government is not keen on getting the money back as their own people, including a former Prime Minister is a major investor in foreign banks,” Mr Advani alleged.
The BJP leader added that the Opposition was holding back from revealing names as it would tarnish the image of the nation.
Before Advani, Sena executive chief Uddhav Thackeray, BJP president Nitin Gadkari, leader Gopinath Munde, JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav and other senior leaders also addressed the rally. Mr Thackeray said that the Congress-NCP was an ideal example of how shameless thick skin people could be. He demanded that the CM to demolish not only Adarsh.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
