After 19 months, Kharagpur-Tatanagar night trains to resume
Night running of trains in the Kharagpur-Tatanagar section of South Eastern Railway which had remained suspended after the Jnaneswari train accident at Jhargram in West Bengal on May 28, 2010, will resume from Thursday night, an SER spokesman said.
He told PTI that a decision to this effect was taken after a clearance was received from the Railway Board on Wednesday.
The clearance has also been received from the state government and the Union Home Ministry, he said, adding, "The resumption of night train services would begin in phases."
Running of trains during night was suspended in the section immediately after the mishap that claimed 150 lives and in which the hand of Maoists were suspected.
