After ministers, SP MLAs at war
Less than a week after two SP ministers traded charges against each other over purchase of seeds in Uttar Pradesh, two Samajwadi MLAs have lodged cross-FIRs against each other over a land dispute.
The two Samajwadi legislators, who belong to Faizabad, are Mitrasen Yadav and Abhay Singh and both are known for their criminal antecedents.
The bone of contention is a prime land in the heart of Faizabad district which both the legislators have been eyeing.
Mitrasen Yadav is an MLA from Bikapur constituency and Abhay Singh is from Gosainganj constituency in the same district.
On Tuesday, one Ram Ajor Yadav, reportedly close to Mitrasen Yadav lodged a case of forgery in Faizabad Kotwali police station against Sarita Singh, wife of Abhay Singh, for illegally having possession of the disputed piece of land using forged documents.
Ram Ajor has claimed in his FIR that he owns the land since 1969, but Abhay Singh has used his muscle power to take possession of the land.
However, Abhay Singh told this correspondent on Wednesday that he had purchased the land from one Vineeta Moris.
