AGP begins campaign, targets Cong

The principal Opposition Asom Gana Parishad on Saturday kicked off its election campaign by launching a frontal attack on the ruling Congress, charging them of indulging in rampant corruption in the state.
Resolving to present a united face of the party, the AGP leaders called upon grassroot-level workers to counter the propaganda campaign of the ruling party.
Observing the day as Sankalpa Divas, AGP leader and former chief minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta accused chief minister Tarun Gogoi of encouraging rampant corruption besides spoiling the economy of the state. He accused the ruling party leaders of siphoning off people’s money by taking loans from financial institutions.
