Airspace restriction in Delhi till Tuesday
The flight of small microlight aircraft, paragliders and hot-air balloons over Delhi was banned for three days by the government as a security measure on the eve of US President Barack Obama’s visit to the capital on Sunday, sources said on Saturday evening. The ban will last till Tuesday when the United States President leaves India.
Even as the New Delhi IGI airport has been enveloped in a thick blanket of security, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has also activated its air defence system to deal with any aerial threats, even as the US Air Force One — carrying the President — will land at the New Delhi IGI airport on Sunday.
“Restrictions on flight of micro-light aircraft and gliders are part of standard procedure,” said an official.

Top leaders will call on US Prez

New Delhi
Nov. 6: Visiting US President Barack Obama will have three top Indian leaders calling on him on Monday and besides the bilateral issue, would discuss matters of national and international importance.
The leaders will include vice-president Hamid Ansari, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj. Sources involved in the process of finalising Mr Obama’s day schedule for Monday informed that each of them would get 20 minutes with the President.
This time there is, however, a difference in the standard protocol practice, as far as calling on goes for the visiting head of state. External affairs minister S.M. Krishna is not officially calling on Mr Obama.
Though the Congress and the BJP will be represented by their leaders — Mrs Gandhi and Mrs Swaraj, no leader from among the Left parties including CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat is scheduled to call on the President.
Sources said, for both Dr Ansari and Mrs Gandhi, there is no agenda for the meeting and as of now their calling on would be in the nature of “courtesy call”.
