Ajmer accused hand suspected in Modasa
The Central investigating agencies are suspecting that two accused — Ramesh Vashni and Harshad Solanki — arrested by the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Rajasthan in connection with Ajmer blast, may also have had a role in the 2008 Modasa (Gujarat) blast case. The names of the duo had also allegedly figured in the 2002 Best Bakery riot case in Vadodara.
Although the 2008 Modasa blast case is being probed by the National Investigating Agency, the intelligence as well as investigative agencies are also suspecting the role of right wing outfits in 2008 Modasa blast case.
A team of investigating officials recently visited Sabri Dham, Saputara, in Dang district of Gujarat, where ashram of Swami Asimanand — the alleged mastermind of Ajmer and Malegaon blasts — is located, to ascertain the Swami’s role in Modasa blast. Two persons were killed and eight others were injured in the blast that occurred on September 29, 2008, in Modasa. Sources said, “agencies investigating Ajmer, Mecca Masjid and Malegaon blasts are also trying to ascertain the role of suspects arrested by ATS Rajasthan recently in Modasa blast. There is a possibility that investigating officials may question Sadhvi Pragya Thakur.”
