All eyes on Telangana CM's post
Hyderabad: N. Kiran kumar Reddy will continue to be the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh till the divison of state is notified With the Centre deciding to carve out a separate Telangana state, for all practical purposes N.Kiran Kumar Reddy will continues to be Chief Minister till the division of state is notified. This will take at least a few more months.
The the existing Cabinet, comprising all the three regions will also simultaneously continue, the ministers, who have been actively associated with both pro and anti-Telangana agitations will have to make peace.
With announcement of Telangana state, question of who will be the Chief Minister of Telangana has started doing rounds already.
It is being assumed that a Telangana state will be a reality likely before the 2014 general elections. This would mean that there will be two CMs for two states on the eve of elections, albeit for a brief period.
There are many contenders from among the Telangana Congress leaders for the top post, including Deputy CM Damodar Raja Narasimha, former PCC chief D. Srinivas, ministers K. Jana Reddy and J. Geeta Reddy. Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy’s name is also doing the rounds though his close associates deny any such move.
