Alwar happy for Bhanwar induction
Alwar started celebrating over the news of local MP Bhanwar Jitendra Singh induction as a minister of state in the Cabinet. His supporters rushed to Mr Singh’s house, the Phool Bagh Palace, to express joy and happiness with firecrackers and drumbeats.
The grandson of the former maharaja of Alwar, late Sir Tej Singh Parbhakar, Mr Singh has emerged as the new power centre in the state politics. He is considered close to Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
“There are C.P. Joshi, Sachin Pilot and Anand Sharma in the Cabinet from the state, but Mr Singh seems more influential due to his closeness with Mr Gandhi,” says a Congress leader.
The political observers see it as an attempt to woo Rajput voters in the state.
