Amar Singh padyatra from Dec 1
Former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Thursday said he would undertake a “padayatra” from Allahabad to Gorakhpur from December 1 to 31 to press the demand for trifurcation of Uttar Pradesh.
“My future in politics is related to the future of Uttar Pradesh. I am working hard for Uttar Pradesh’s future and right now campaigning for its trifurcation into Bundelkhand, Poorvanchal and Paschimanchal,” he said responding to queries by reporters at a meet-the-press programme here.
Mr Singh is here to promote the Malayalam film Bombay Mittayi in which he had acted along with Dimple Kapadia.
He was accompanied by Dimple and Ms Jayaprada for the preview show of the film and the press meet.
Stating that progress and development had come wherever big states were divided into smaller ones, Mr Singh said it was only pragmatic and practical to rule small states.
“This should not be deemed as fragmentation of the country.”
He said anybody supporting the cause of small states were welcome to join the struggle.

No leads in Sunil Joshi murder case
AGE CORRESPONDENT
BHOPAL
Nov. 4: The Dewas police in Madhya Pradesh have so far failed to gather any clue about those behind the murder of the RSS Pracharak Sunil Joshi, who was murdered in Dewas in December 2007 and was an accused in a local Congress leader’s murder case and was also said to be among those behind the Ajmer Dargah blast.
The Dewas district superintendent of police, S.P. Singh denied reports that the police had closed the Sunil Joshi murder case and said that investigations in this case are continuing. He said that the Anti-terrorism Squad of the Rajasthan police had come to Dewas and was carrying out investigations into the 2007 Ajmer Dargah blast case even in neighbouring districts. He asserted the Rajasthan ATS was being given full cooperation by the MP police. It is learnt that Joshi was living near Dewas bypass road with a fake identity. Three of his close associates were also maintaining bogus identities. Because of their fictitious credentials, the police is finding it difficult to close in on these accused, the Dewas S.P. said.
