Hospital for bhopal victims under RTI act
AGE CORRESPONDENT
BHOPAL, Nov. 1
The Central Information Commission has brought Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre, set up for the victims of the 1984 Union Carbide gas disaster, under the ambit of Right to Information Act.
The order by the CIC comes in response to an appeal by Ms Rachna Dhingra of Bhopal Group for Information Action. She was compelled to approach the Central Information Commission as BMHRC was refusing to come under the ambit of the RTI Act after it was taken over by the Union Department of Atomic Energy in July 2010.
