Andhra Pradesh Assembly's budget session ends

Hyderabad: The Budget session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly came to an end on Friday with the House completing the formality of adopting the Appropriation Bill amid din created by Opposition members over different issues.
No discussion took place in the Assembly on the crucial state Budget for the 2013-14 financial year as seven of ten working days during the second part of the session that began on June 10 were lost in repeated adjournments.
Only on Thursday did the House take up a brief discussion on the demand for grants relating to welfare but subsequently all other demands were adopted by voice vote without any debate.
Even today, the House remained adjourned three times as Telangana Rashtra Samiti legislators disrupted the proceedings seeking a resolution on the statehood issue.
Initially, the TDP members too remained in the Well of the House demanding a discussion on the high-handed activities of TRS MLA K.T. Rama Rao.
Amid shouting of slogans by both opposition parties, Speaker Nadendla Manohar first adjourned the House for half an hour but order never restored leading to two further adjournments.
As the TRS members stayed put in the Well, pressing for a resolution on Telangana, the Speaker ran through the formality of getting the Appropriation Bill passed.
Earlier in the day, the reports of Comptroller and Auditor General for the year ending March 2012 on subjects like Jalayagnam, MGNREGP were tabled in the House.
