Anna to go on indefinite silence vow for health
Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare will observe an indefinite maun vrat (silence vow) from Sunday, but on health grounds.
According to the activist’s close aides, after coming back to Ralegan Siddhi following his 13-day anti-corruption fast at New Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, Mr Hazare has been continuously interacting with scores of people. He has also been addressing the media and the constant stream of visitors.
“Anna’s vow of silence will be for his health, so that he can rejuvenate. Anna will abstain from talking, and the silence will help him conserve and regain his strength,” said Suresh Pathade, an Anna supporter and resident of Ralegan Siddhi.
Meanwhile, in an interview to a TV channel, Mr Hazare said he will work with the Congress if the UPA government brings a strong Lokpal Bill in the Winter Session.
But if the bill was not passed in the session he will work against it, he said.
