Another case on arrested BJP MLA
The UP government has slapped another case for rioting on BJP MLA Suresh Rana, who was arrested in Lucknow on September 20 for allegedly inciting violence by making provocative speeches in Muzaffarnagar.
The case was registered on Sunday in connection with an incident in Shamli district on June 16 this year. According to police reports, a girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang raped in Shamli on June 16, after which hundreds of protesters led by Suresh Rana staged a protest in which shops and vehicles were damaged. The protesters were demanding the arrest of the accused persons.
Meanwhile, another arrested legislator Noor Salim Rana of BSP, who was sent to 14 days judicial custody on Saturday, could not be shifted to Azamgarh district jail due to some health problem, jailer Mijazilal said.
