Antrix-Devas deal: Madhavan Nair steps up pressure

With pressure mounting from the scientific community for having barred four of its members, including former ISRO chief Madhavan Nair, from holding government positions, PMO has adopted a conciliatory tone.

Minister of state in PMO V. Narayanasamy said: “We are ready to listen to their points of view.” But Nair insisted the ban should be revoked and an apology tendered forthwith.

Narayanasamy said the government action was based on B. Suresh and Pratyush Sinha panel reports and he had nothing against the scientists.

Nair, however, remained critical of the government stating so far none of the four scientists had received any order from the authorities.

“Even the first order copy debarring us has not reached us. The government should communicate to us directly. Why through the media?” he said.
