AP Maoist arrested in J’khand
A CPI Maoist from Andhra Pradesh, Nune Narasimha Reddy, alias Ganganna, was arrested by the Jharkhand police on Saturday at Bokaro with the help of the AP Special Intelligence Branch.
Reddy was a state-committee ranked Maoist working in the Jharkhand-Bihar committee and was carrying a reward of Rs 10 lakh. State police sources said that Reddy was also in charge of Scope (sub committee for political education). Reddy is a native of Kakumanu in Guntur district and was involved in several offences carried out in Guntur and Nallamala.
“He is an expert in political education. He played a key role for the Maoists during talks with the AP government. He had been arrested earlier and had jumped bail. Narasimha Reddy went underground in the late ’80s,” said police.

Rs 2.31 lakh cr for RTE
Kolkata, Aug. 8: Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday said the human resource development ministry would be allocated Rs 2.31 lakh crore over the next three years to set up infrastructure for implementing the Right to Education.
“The HRD minister said that Rs 2,31,000 crore will be required for implementing RTE in the next three years for setting up schools, appointment of teachers and building of infrastructure. I said that the money will be provided,” Mr Mukherjee said. The govt recently decided to embark upon a process to overcome teething troubles in implementing RTE. —PTI
