AP Minister slams opposition leaders
Andhra Pradesh Revenue Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy late on Tuesday accused the opposition leaders of trying to create a constitutional crisis in the Congress-ruled state.
Telugu Desam Party President N. Chandrababu Naidu, Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao and YSR Congress leader Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy want to create a constitutional crisis in the state, he said while talking to reporters here.
Raghuveera Reddy said this when asked to comment on the mass resignations of MLAs, MPs and MLCs from Telangana to press for granting statehood to the region. He asked Congressmen not to fall into the ‘trap’ laid by the trio and observed that resignations are no panacea to a long-pending issue like Telangana.
Speaking separately to reporters here, senior TDP leader and former Home Minister K. Siva Prasada Rao opposed the demand for a division of Andhra Pradesh.
He attributed the present political scenario in Andhra Pradesh to the ‘indecision’ of Congress and said the state may be heading for the President's rule.
