APCC criticises BJP, RSS
The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has criticised the BJP and RSS for allegedly taking “political advantage” of the fight against corruption and black money being spearheaded by Yoga Guru Ramdev and social activist Anna Hazare.
Taking strong exception to the reported attempt of some sections, particularly the BJP and RSS to subvert the time-tested institutions of democracy and Parliament, the APCC, in a meeting on Monday condemned any attempt to discredit the democratic process in the country, a party comminique said here on Tuesday.
Chaired by president Nabam Tuki, the meeting, which had a threadbare discussion on the present situation in the country, particularly in the wake of the issue of corruption spearheaded by Baba Ramdev, Anna Hazare and others, unanimously condemned the BJP and RSS for using popularity and wealth of Baba Ramdev for their political benefits while hoodwinking the people of the country.
The APCC also decided to launch intensive mass awareness programmes to disseminate the achievements and agendas of Congress-led UPA-I and UPA-II governments at all levels – state, districts and blocks, the comminique added.
