Army, babus forged Adarsh papers: CBI
Jan. 2: The CBI is all set to register an FIR in connection with the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society scam. According to sources, the agency has found evidence of alleged forgery and manipulation of documents on the part of some Army officials and bureaucrats in the Adarsh Society scam. The agency has decided to file a regular case only after finding prima facie evidence of criminality, sources added.
“The scrutiny of the documents, recently seized by the CBI, has revealed that the forgery has been allegedly committed by a few defence officials in criminal conspiracy with bureaucrats of the Maharashtra government and private individuals,” said sources. They added that a decision on registering the case under provisions of the IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act would be taken once a clearance came from the legal department of the CBI.
The CBI had registered a preliminary enquiry (PE) into the case on November 15. The PE had been registered on the basis of complaint given by the defence ministry to the CBI.
