Army: Have Pak terror camp info

Close on the heels of Army Chief’s statement that Indian armed forces were competent to carry out US like operation in Pakistan, GOC-in-C Northern Command Lt. Gen. K.T. Parnaik on Thursday stated the “Army has the exact ‘coordinates’ of the terrorist training camps across the LoC” which have been shared with the intelligence agencies and the Government of India.
“When the time will come we will be able to take action as and when it is decided,” he said while interacting with the media on the side lines of a seminar on Disaster Management at Nagrotra based 16 Corps Headquarters.
He was responding to a query pertaining to the exact number and position of terrorist training camps in PoK. When asked about India’s strategy against the terrorists and hardliners like Hafiz Sayeed, wanted by India yet roaming freely in Pakistan, Lt. Gen. Parnaik, however, stated, “These are actions taken at the national level by the political leadership. The Indian Army is an instrument of the state so as and when it is decided to take these actions the Army will play its role.”
Stating that the killing of the Al Qaida chief Osama Bin Laden would not have any major repercussions in J&K in the near future, he said that Indian forces were fully prepared and alert to handle any type of situation. “It is a global matter, not concerning only India and Pakistan. I don’t see any major repercussions in the state of J&K as such but these are issues which only time will tell what actually happened,” he added on this account. Lt. Gen. Parnaik said, “I don’t think it is fair to draw parallels between what Americans are doing and what we are doing. These are totally different circumstances.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
