Army told to work for free
New Delhi, Aug. 20: The Organising Committee of the Commonwealth Games wants the Army to work for it free of cost. Army officers and jawans have been utilised by the OC for various services and the latter owes around Rs 11 crore. But the OC wants the Army to waive off the charges. However, OC officials said that they would be ready to pay on a few things.
The chairman of the empowered group of ministers, Mr S. Jaipal Reddy, on Friday told mediapersons that he had written a letter to the defence ministry seeking waiver of the dues.
