Arunachal CM quits, CLP asks Sonia to decide
Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Jarbom Gamlin submitted his resignation on Monday to allow Congress president Sonia Gandhi to take a final decision on resolving the political stalemate in the state.
Mr Gamlin submitted his resignation to the state governor, Gen. J.J. Singh (Retd). A meeting of the Congress Legislature Party had earlier passed a resolution authorising Mrs Gandhi to take a final decision on the leadership issue.
A three-member team comprising Mr Shinde, former Union minister B.K. Handique and AICC general secretary in charge of the state Dhaniram Shandil of central observers attended the meeting in Itanagar attended by 40 legislators.
