Arunachal crisis puts aicc in a fix
In what has further complicated the problem of the Congress leadership in Arunachal Pradesh, a mega-dignity rally of two organisations of the Nyishi community — one of the largest communities in the multi-ethnic frontier state — has threatened to intensify their agitation to oust chief minister Jarbom Gamlin.
Though the rally was called to mount pressure on the government to find out the actual source which fed derogatory opinion to the media about the community, it ended with its demand to replace Mr Gamlin.
The rally, which was participated by a large number of youth at Itanagar, also announced their agitation programs ranging from 36-hour bandh to several protest marches besides asking Nyishi MLAs to withdraw support from Mr Gamlin.
Alleging there was complete lawlessness prevailing in the state, the community leaders also urged the governor to ensure governance by way of changing the leadership.
