During examination of Sonu, who was admitted here on Saturday, it was detected that her amputated left leg had swelling and infection due to which surgery was required.
Debridement surgery is done to help wounds heal quickly. Due to excessive bleeding Sonu’s haemoglobin level has gone done fairly due to which transfusion was done last night.
“She has been given two bottles of blood since she was admitted in the university. Sonu’s case is that of below knee amputation and she has been kept in high dependency ward,” they said. The 23-year-old player lost her leg after being pushed from Padmavat Express near Bareilly on April 11.
