Aseemanand in custody till Tuesday
The Rajasthan ATS has completed its investigations with Swami Aseemanand, a key suspect in the Ajmer blast case, while a local court in Ajmer sent him to judicial custody till February 15. But the court sent Bharat Bhai to police custody for a week as the ATS demanded it.
The court has given permission to the CBI to grill Harshad Solanki in the Malegaon blast case. The Rajasthan ATS had arrested Solanki from Gujarat and he has also been named in the murder of a Sangh functionary Sunil Joshi in Dewas. The ATS has produced both Aseemanand and Bharat Bhai before a local court in Ajmer on Friday amid tight security. The ATS officials requested police remand for Bharat.
According to sources, the ATS wanted to check Bharat’s bank accounts as it had been suspected that he provided financial assistance to the suspects.
Bharat had spent quite a some time in Canada and Dubai before shifting to Gujarat. The ATS listed his name as a witness in the Ajmer blast case but he was arrested after the police went through Aseemanand’s statement.
According to sources, Bharat Bhai admitted that he was in touch with slain RSS worker Sunil Joshi and Pragya Singh Thakur. He also said that Anand Kataria had made a phone call to him on the intervening night of December 29-30, 2007 and informed that Joshi had murdered.
