Assam horror: 2 more held, SI suspended
The Assam police, which constituted a team of officers to probe last Monday’s molestation incident, on Sunday arrested two more accused. One of them, in his “confession” before the media, blamed a local TV journalist for keeping the girl confined to record the video.
The police also suspended sub-inspector Subhan Baruah of Dispur police station for dereliction of duty. Prime accused Amarjyoti Kalita is still at large. “We have sent police teams to neighbouring states also to trace him,” senior superintendent of police Apurba Jeevan Baruah said.
