Ayodhya verdict: Nirmohi Akhara to approach SC before Nov 30

Ayodhya: Nirmohi Akhara, the main litigant in the Ayodhya title suits, today said it will approach the Supreme Court against the Allahabad High Court verdict before November 30, but would simultaneously continue its efforts to resolve the dispute amicably.

"The Akhil Bhartiya Sreepanch Ramamnandiya Nirmohi Akhara Parishad would approach the apex court before November 30, but at the same time it will continue its efforts for reaching an amicable solution to the vexed issue," the mahant and sarpanch of the Nirmohi Akhara, Bhaskar Das, told newspersons here.

He said that representatives of the Akhara will meet the president of the Sunni Central Waqf Board and members of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and request them to contribute in order to reach an amicable solution to the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Mosque dispute.

"We will meet people of the stature of former President A P J Abdul Kalam, Swami Ramdev, Sri Ravishankar, the Shankaracharyas and Mahamandaleshwars to seek their help in resolving the issue," the mahant said.

Spokesman of the Akhara Ram Das said they will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in this regard, though the Akhara would try to keep political people at bay as they create unnecessary hurdles.

He said that yesterday he met the other main litigant in the case, Hashim Ansari.

"Hashim Ansari wants peace and tranquility in Ayodhya and has been working for the same. He told us that though he is ready that the mosque be built at another place away from the disputed site, some fundamentalists are against it and are trying to isolate him (Ansari)," Ram Das said.
